A former editor of Scripture Press, Bonnie also served for several years as curriculum writer and product designer with five educational publishers, producing resources for ages Nursery through Adult.  She was also on the editorial staff of Christian Parent, Trails 'N' Treasures, and Kid's Corner, as well as cartoonist for the California Southern Baptist.  For several years she was editor of Write On!, a newsletter for Christian writers.

Among the more than 36 books she has authored or co-authored are a Finalist for a Gold Medallion Award, a popular seven-book Ponytail Girls series for girls, several teaching resources, a book on church history, one for senior citizens, a preschool curriculum and Songs For A Mockingbird, already an award-winner and the first of her new Adult Suspense Series.  Its sequel, Shadows of Summer, is due out later this year.  In addition, she has introduced a colorful new children's picture book, God's Crayon Box, a humorous book on housework, Rinse Cycle Rejoicing!  Holly Jean and the Secret of Razorback Ridge, first of a new adventure series for girls, is now out, as are Holly Jean and the Box in Granny’s Attic and her exciting new biblical novel, Sebiya, the Shepherd Princess.

She has also had hundreds of articles, poems, stories, and puzzles published in well-known publications such as Ideals, Plus, Jack and Jill, and Focus on the Family Clubhouse.  Her work has also been included in dozens of anthologies, such as 35 in the Chicken Soup series.

 A former teacher, pastor's wife, missionary in Australia, communications specialist for an international  investment firm, and Creative Writing Professor, Bonnie is an Advisor for the Orange County Christian Writer's Fellowship Board.

 Married to Dr. Don J. Hanson a pastor, she has three sons, four grandchildren, and a house and yard full of pets.  She is currently writing several new books, is active in her church near her home in Santa Ana, California, and reaches still others through her speaking and teaching ministries, including mentoring of new writers.
